In today's computer world, instant messaging has become extremely popular and it's used by more and more people. That's because it's much more convenient to chat with someone using instant messages than sending him an email or text message. But the multitude of instant messaging services requires having a client application for each of them. For example, if you have a Yahoo, a MSN and a Jabber account, you will need to install three different applications. But not when using Miranda IM. This fully-featured and simple Windows application allows anyone to connect to multiple instant messaging protocols at the same time. It's practically more programs in one.

Installing the application is one simple task and the same can be said abut using it. After running the application, the user will first need to create a new profile which contains all his messaging services. After completing this step, one can start adding all his instant messaging accounts into the interface. Miranda IM supports the most popular chat services, including Yahoo, Jabber, MSN and so on. Connecting to any of these accounts requires entering the username and password.

After completing the configuration process, the user can connect to all the created instant messaging services using a single click. At this point, he can chat with his friends and exchange files just like he would normally do using dedicated applications for these services.

By accessing the options section of the program, the user can customize the program's functionality and also the look and feel, being able to modify all the colors of the application. Besides that, he can customize certain options for each added instant messaging account. Unfortunately, the interface of Miranda IM doesn't support skins or themes.
